ClearSplit performs calculations based on the data you provide. While we strive for accuracy, the App is provided as a convenience tool. We are not responsible for errors arising from incorrect data entry, AI misrecognition of receipt items, or rounding differences. Always verify totals independently for important transactions.
All content, design, graphics, logos, and software in ClearSplit are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written consent.
The App integrates with third-party services including Microsoft Azure Document Intelligence for AI processing and Apple's frameworks for device functionality. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.
The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
Certain features of the App — including but not limited to receipt scanning and photo upload — depend on third-party services (such as Microsoft Azure Document Intelligence) and require an active internet connection. The availability and performance of these features is not guaranteed and may be affected by:
We are not liable for any inability to use scanning, analytics, or other connection-dependent features due to such conditions. All core features that do not require external services — including manual item entry, person and split management, and tax/tip calculations — remain available offline.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ClearSplit and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or any financial loss arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ClearSplit and its developers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the App or your violation of these Terms.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in the United States.
